Message from the Principal: Janidi Jingan

It gives me great pleasure to feature in the Kindergarten Section Homepage.

The opportunity for children to begin to understand that school is a place for learning and working starts at Kindergarten. At St. George's Kindergarten Section, we are committed to inspiring each child every day, and this begins with your child. The kindergarten program provides initial learning experiences in language development, number concepts, creative skills, and social and physical growth. Emphasis is given to induce and strengthen natural curiosity and learning abilities in children who learn through play. This includes storytelling, singing rhymes, picture games and constructive play. Educational experiences provide balance and variety among physical, mental, spiritual, and social activities as the child's world of awareness is extended from the home to the classroom. They will learn about sharing, taking turns, respecting the rights of others, and taking care of themselves.

We are always delighted and welcome all new pupils and their parents as active participants in the life of the school, working with you to bring our vision closer to realization.

We look forward to the pleasure of your continuous support! Thank you.

Aims and Vision of St. George's School Pre-School
  • To provide a happy, safe, and stimulating environment for each child to grow.
  • To implement early childhood learning process through play, fun, and interactive activities that would develop children in areas of physical, academics, social, emotional as well in communication.
  • To nurture each child so they will grow to have high self-esteem and confidence within themselves.
  • To expose all children to the varied cultures and races withing Brunei Darussalam.
  • To offer programmes that are well balanced and challenging as this becomes the platform to developing each child for later life.
    • KINDERGARTEN 1 (3-4 years old)

The first year of preschool education is the first stage of child's schooling experience. Children explore a wide variety of academic, social, physical, emotional lessons and develop fine motor skills.

Literacy programs such as Numeracy and Phonics are introduced and taught at a child's own pace through hands-on experience activities.

Social and emotional development is emphasized. They learn to share, take turns, solve problems individually and together through teamwork and show cooperation. The children will learn independence and develop confidence in speaking longer phrases and sentences. They also learn empathy, develop meaningful and lasting friendships and partnerships, and feel a sense of importance and value to those around him/her.

      KINDERGARTEN 2 (4-5 years old)

The curriculum continues the progression from Kindergarten 1 in preparing the children to work on key areas. It prepares the children to be emergent readers through Phonics Reading and Bacaan subjects. It also offers Early numeracy, English, Bahasa Melayu, Science, Art & Craft, Music & Movement, and outdoor games.

In skill activities, children are stretched using learning resources to enhance the five areas of development. Children learn to walk in a line with peers and clean up toys and supplies in transitional periods.

      KINDERGARTEN 3 (5-6 years old)

Children are prepared for formal education at this last level of preschool studies. Subjects offered is a progression from the previous level of kindergarten. Phonics reading and Bacaan are reinforced for children to be independent in their reading skills and ready for the next level of formal education.
