It was an exciting and informative talk given by Pat Li, who with a few volunteers, helped organize a public awareness campaign to raise awareness of #zerowaste in Brunei. The talk was held on 20 May 2019 at St. George's School to Years 7 and 8 students
In her talk, she educated the students on the need to use less disposable plastic in order to cause less damage to Mother Nature as well as to lessen the negative effects it has on our next generation. Since toxic release from these disposable plastic can be accumulated in our body, there will also be long term damage to our health.
On 25 May 2019, a nationwide 'No Plastic Day' Campaign Brunei Darussalam, organised by the Big BWN Project will be launched. The main objective is to raise public awareness on the impact of single use plastic waste on the environment.
The students of Years 7 and 8 were very receptive to the information delivered and have agreed to help in ensuring that less plastic is used in their daily life in order to create less waste.
