Kejohanan Catur Bagi Sekolah-Sekolah Rendah Zon Brunei I was held on 25th March 2014, organised by the Jabatan Pandidikan Kokurikulum, Kementerian Pendidikan hosted by Sekolah Rendah Sungai Kebun, Brunei I. Once again, St. George's was on top 10!! Team consisted of

- Sachien Murugesan (Year 6)
- Jeff Kwan Sheng Yang (Year 6)
- Ryan Gyver Arconcil Sace (Year 6)
- John Mari Angelo Crisostomo (Year 4)
- Hyde Natrisha Binti Hijium (Year 6)
There were 70 chess players challenging, from 17 different schools, and 9 rounds to complete. Cely Jelita Cristy, Sachien Murugesan, Jeff Kwan Sheng Yang obtained position 6, 7 and 8 respectively and won medals. Ryan and John Mari Angelo Crisostomo won five games each and Hyde Natrisha won four. All the six players were trained by Mr. Tahir, The Grand Master and Coach,Brunei Chess Federation. We hope to see more of laurels in the days to come.
