Enthusiasm and festivity marked the Teachers' Day celebrations at St. George's School on Saturday 4th October 2014. Primary students put their best foot forward to pay respect to the teachers and celebrate the day. The Chairman of the School Mr. Antony Liew and Hajah Dina, a representative from the BPS Ministry of Education, were also present at the celebration.
The merriment included the principal's speech and in his speech Mr. Janidi lauded the contribution of teachers. He emphasized that it is the best occasion to extend sincere gratitude to all the teachers of the world. The Chairman in his speech accentuated that it is important for teachers to refine their skills and aim at obtaining improved results in the PSR examinations.
A scintillating cultural program was presented by the primary students. The highlights were the Indian, Hawaiian and modern dances and speeches given in praise of the teachers.
Teachers were given gifts and a caricature of themselves. The comic effect created in the caricature brought laughter and joy around. Students brought a variety of tasty food and shared them with teachers and friends in the classroom. The school wore a festive look throughout the afternoon. A proud moment for teachers indeed!
