On March 14, 2023, representatives from the JPMC College of Health Sciences (JCHS) visited St. George’s School to provide information on the college’s program offerings and a talk on the nursing profession.
Attended by Year 10 and 11 students, JCHS representatives, Eugene Benicta (Admissions Officer), Lim Ai Ling (Marketing Officer) as well as representatives from Far Eastern University-Manila, Pamela Hernandez (Chief Accountant) and Michelle Acomular (Senior Director for Admissions) were able to discuss advantages in taking the two programs, Foundation in Science Certification program for one year, which leads to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) for three years.
Founded on July 14, 2022, JCHS is a private higher education institution formed as a joint venture between Jerudong Park Medical Centre Sdn Bhd and Far Eastern University, Philippines. It aims to produce healthcare leaders who will promote practice and pursue excellence in health science education, healthcare services, compassionate care, health research, and lifelong learning.
Also accredited by the Brunei Darussalam National Accreditation Council (BDNAC), JCHS is considered as the first private institution in Brunei Darussalam to offer a Foundation in Science Certification program for one year, which leads to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) for three years. Through the curricula based on global standards, future healthcare leaders will have career opportunities in a span of three or four years of study.
