On 22nd March 2023, non-Muslim St. Georgians of the morning section came to school excited for the field trip that lay ahead of them! Muslim students had a tahlil event to attend, which was held in conjunction with the month of Ramadhan.

Students first gathered in the parish hall for a short safety briefing by Teacher Eugene. Also, to avoid congestion on the sidewalks, students were divided into two groups. Once it was 8:30 a.m., the first group of students left the hall and made their way by foot to the Brunei History Center situated in the heart of the nation’s capital. A short while later, the second group headed towards the Royal Regalia Museum, located right next to the history center.

The Brunei History Center contains galleries displaying historical documents concerning the nation which are part of a timeline from the 13th century until the latest decade. Students were able to glimpse those and also, a genealogy of all previous Sultans of Brunei up until the present. Once the group of students were done at the Center, they hopped over to Royal Regalia, which is just a two-minute walk away. There, students self-toured around, and managed to catch sight of the Sultanate’s heirlooms, as well as exhibits of His Majesty’s Silver and Golden Jubilee celebrations. Meanwhile, the second group of students had made their way to the Brunei History Center.

Before leaving the respective centers, students were reminded that they should process the day’s enriching experience. The walk back to school, then, was filled with buzz and excitement as students discussed all they had seen.
