On the 13th of May 2023, St. George's School held its first ever Blood Donation Drive at the Parish Hall. The drive was organised by the Staff Welfare Committee as part of its initiative to give back and help the wider community beyond the school gates.
The event took place from 8.30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. and was attended by Principal Janidi Jingan, Deputy Principal N.M. Mubarak, Head of Primary as well as the Chairperson for the Staff Welfare Committee (SWC), Alice Ting, members of the SWC, and also parents and members of the public who were interested in donating blood. The school had also provided refreshments for all those in attendance.
The drive started with the Chairperson of the SWC, Alice Ting, being the first donor of the day, followed by the rest of the donors. By the end of the drive, there was a total of 29 pints of blood collected from 38 donors who consisted of school staff members, parents and members of the public.
Overall, it was a successful blood donation drive that saw many generous and willing participants come together for an important cause – potentially saving lives. The school would like to once again extend its deepest gratitude to all those who took part in its first blood donation drive.
