We welcomed representatives from the Brunei Red Crescent on 1st May 2024 for a special talk! The Brunei Red Crescent Society, a humanitarian organization known for its global relief efforts, visited our school to engage students in discussions about helping others and making a positive impact in their communities.
The session kicked off by Mr. Simon Leong, the Secretary General & CEO of BRC, with an introduction to the Brunei Red Crescent Society 's mission and core values. Students learned about the seven Fundamental Principles that guide the organization's work, including humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity, and universality.
Through an interactive presentation, Mr. Simon brought their message to life. Students were encouraged to participate Brunei Red Crescent School Cadet Platoon which allows the age from 12 years old to 17 years old. Students who successfully joined to be part of the platoon will be trained in simulations to understand disaster preparedness and first-aid techniques. They also learned about the BRC 's various initiatives, from providing aid in conflict zones to promoting health and safety programs.
This insightful talk by the BRC left a lasting impression on our student body. It sparked a sense of responsibility and a desire to make a difference. We are grateful to the BRC for their visit and for inspiring the next generation of compassionate leaders!
