Teachers create tomorrow in the minds of today

2024 Teachers' Day Celebration

On 30 September 2024, St George's School celebrated Teachers' Day in the parish hall with a series of exciting programme and performances. In attendance was the Chairman of the School Board, Mr Anthony Liew, accompanied by the principal, Mr Janidi Jingan, Deputy Principal Mr N. Mubarak and Head of Primary, Mdm Alice Ting, teachers and students of the primary section.

The ceremony preceded with the singing of the national anthem, followed by the school song and a recital of prayers by Ustaz Mohidin. Then, the celebration was officiated with an opening remark by the principal, in which he presented a brief history on the earliest Teachers' Day celebration in Brunei. A Year 6 representative, Morgoon Thit, was then invited to give a speech on behalf of all students.

Our talented St Georgians put on a concert showcasing their talents and passion which included a piano recital of Fur Elise by Sonia from Year 5B, a welcoming dance by Year 4 and Year 5 students, a short storytelling by Ramlah from Year 1A, a dance number from Year 2A and Year 2B and a group singing of Forever Young by Year 3A and Year 3B. A drama skit which included a duet serenaded by Anna and Maisarah from Year 4A, a Bollywood dance duo from Year 4B, a comedic relief moonwalk by Kaveer from Year 4B and a cheer dance by Year 5B. The Year 6A performed a drama skit. Finally, a closing performance by Lih Yuann from Year 5B with a solo waltz dance.

The event concluded with the awarding of tokens of appreciation for all the Primary teachers and a group photo session. Then, students were ushered to their respective classrooms to enjoy the class party with their class teachers.
