On 29 May 2025 – St. George’s School proudly celebrates an outstanding achievement by Nur Hannah Nabeelah bte Hj Muhammad Salzanaide/Addie of Year 10A, who clinched first place in the prestigious COSMO Photography Competition 2025, hosted by Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology.
With the theme “The Spirit of Togetherness,” the competition challenged participants to encapsulate unity and collaboration through powerful imagery. Nur Hannah’s breathtaking photograph captivated the judges, showcasing her exceptional talent in composition, storytelling, and evoking emotion.
Competing alongside her were five talented students from St. George’s, all of whom demonstrated remarkable creativity in a contest that proved both challenging and rewarding. Their journey was supported by Teacher Afiqah Hanum binti Haji Murni, Secondary Art Teacher, who guided the students throughout the competition, helping them refine their artistic vision and techniques. Teacher Afiqah was also present at the award ceremony, celebrating their achievements and witnessing the well-deserved recognition of her students’ hard work.
Beyond the competition, the students engaged in an immersive photography workshop, refining their skills and gaining invaluable insights from experienced mentors. Their participation highlights St. George’s School’s dedication to nurturing artistic expression and encouraging students to explore creative pursuits beyond the classroom.
Nur Hannah’s triumph is a testament to the extraordinary potential of Brunei’s youth and serves as an inspiration to aspiring photographers. Her success not only brings pride to St. George’s School but also showcases the power of artistic storytelling in celebrating meaningful narratives through the lens.
