Parents and guardians of new pupils were invited to the St. George’s School Parish Hall on 10 January 2026 for a briefing on key guidelines for new pupils. The meeting was chaired by Principal Janidi Jingan, Deputy Principal Luxman Satchi, and Head of Primary, Madam Alice Ting. The briefing was divided into two sessions: the first focused on new pupils, while the second addressed Year 1 pupils.

The programme began with a warm welcome from the Head of Primary, followed by a briefing from the Principal. The Principal highlighted the school’s mission to foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment, the importance of strong home-school partnerships, financial responsibilities, leave of absence guidelines, safety measures, and bullying awareness. A question-and-answer session was also held, during which the new Deputy Principal, Luxman Satchi, was introduced.

The Deputy Principal shared insights on changes in learning styles, the use of devices, and the importance of healthy relationships between children and parents. The Head of Primary then outlined the school’s vision and mission, curriculum, and integrated programmes such as Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar. She also highlighted various activities conducted over the years, including storytelling and writing workshops, language workshops for parents, Language Week, school trips, and approaches to parental engagement through WhatsApp groups, parent–teacher discussions, and transparent communication.

A separate briefing was then conducted for Year 1 pupils, focusing on the Jolly Phonics and Jolly Grammar programmes and how both support early literacy development. Pupils were also introduced to the iRead Home Reading Programme and collected their reading packets to begin the school year.

Overall, the meeting strengthened the partnership between the school and parents, ensuring that both work together to support pupils’ learning, wellbeing, and success throughout the school year.
