Young Entrepreneurs Shine at SGS Entrepreneur Day 2026

On Saturday, 13th June 2026, St George's School held its 2026 Entrepreneur Day. Upper secondary students from Years 9 to 11 were allowed to open their long-awaited stalls, welcoming not only fellow SGS students, but also teachers, parents, and friends. In preparation for this event, students worked tirelessly to promote their businesses through posters around the school, as well as advertisements on social media.

This year’s SGS Entrepreneur Day featured a vibrant mix of sweet and savoury offerings. Among the highlights were refreshing ice creams and drinks, including WonderFloats, which featured its popular Coke Float alongside a range of cooling beverages and desserts, perfect for Brunei’s hot weather. Returning favourites from last year also made a comeback, such as Whisk’d and D’Oasis. D’Oasis attracted visitors with its refreshing summer drinks, while Whisk’d offered a more specialised experience with authentic Japanese matcha drinks and desserts imported from Japan.

The savoury stalls drew large crowds with a wide variety of comfort foods. Burgers, fried chicken, loaded fries, and Korean corndogs were among the favourites, offered by stalls such as FryNation, Big Back Burgers, Grilled Society, Cherry Chicks, Crispy Cravings, and Tung-Tung Corndawgs. Zipties stood out by preparing pasta live on-site, while Dinolicious impressed visitors with its creative dinosaur-themed presentation paired with fresh nachos. Fizzchic offered a unique blend of savoury and sweet with homemade sourdough sandwiches, and Tastytracks added a creative twist with tanghulu, kunafa, and Dubai chocolate-inspired treats.

The drinks and dessert stalls showcased impressive creativity and variety. Cloud 4 Café, One Last Sip, Panda’s Palette, Balikbayan-Sips, and You Are My Sunshine offered refreshing beverages ranging from mango yoghurt and matcha drinks to Filipino-inspired refreshments and fruit-based coolers. Meanwhile, Naddy Crumbles, WhimsyBakery, Scooped, and Noemie delighted visitors with homemade cookies, brownies, cakes, and desserts, each featuring unique recipes, branding, and signature products. Yarneez also offered a non-food alternative, selling stickers, keychains, and badges inspired by popular franchises.

Despite the challenges and unexpected hiccups faced throughout the event, most students agreed that it was a rewarding and valuable experience. Managing resources, handling large crowds, and adapting to unexpected situations highlighted important areas for improvement in future events. More importantly, the experience provided students with valuable hands-on learning in financial management, and teamwork, as they worked together as St. Georgians towards a common goal. The event served as both an enjoyable and educational experience, helping students develop essential life skills beyond the classroom.
