On the 30th of May 2026, 3 students, Abigail Calimbas Olayvar and Sauleha Suleman from 10B and Shaahana Sheikh from 11B were selected to join the Global Awareness & Impact Alliance (GAIA) ‘Own Your Feed’ Creative Campaign supported by the Australian High Commission of Brunei which had taken place at the UBD Core.
In this campaign, students learned why it is important to pause before sharing online content, especially if it may be AI-shaped. This helped them to verify the source of the content before spreading false information. Students formed teams with students from different schools in Brunei. Each team was told to create an awareness campaign that helps others make safer and more responsible choices online. Each team had a different case to present. At the end of the workshop, all the teams had to present their content.
Towards the end of the event, certificates of completion had been given out. Additionally, Abigail Calimbas Olayvar from 10B had received a certificate for the best speaker. The students had gained knowledge on how to use AI more efficiently and responsibly. They also learned how to differentiate fake news from real ones and to take precautions to avoid falling into the trap of scams. A point mentioned by one of the speakers was “They learned you, now learn them”
