On May 21st 2024, Simon Leong, a representative of the Brunei Red Crescent society, visited St.George's School with the purpose of establishing a platoon in the school. This would make our school the first private school in Brunei to have such a platoon.

Red Crescent is the world's largest humanitarian network. It was known as the Junior Red Crescent when it was established in 1949. It now allows pre-university or college students to join Red Cresent. It not only brings out the best in its volunteers but also shapes them for a seamless transition as they go into adulthood. He explained that the humanitarian society extends global aid in emergencies.

Mr. Simon is offering membership to 30 student volunteers. Membership offers a platform to enhance life skills and networking. The volunteers would also be well-trained in first aid and teamwork would be encouraged.
