Here in St. George's School, Merit awards ceremonies are important as such ceremonies acknowledge the achievements of our hard working students who have made both the school and their parents proud. It also encourages the students to do well in their academics and to inculcate the competitive spirit amongst them.

The Merit Awards was held on Tuesday, 22nd November 2022 at the school's parish hall. The ceremony witnessed incredibly happy parents who came to celebrate the well-deserved success.

In the principal's remarks, Mr Janidi Jingan congratulated the high achievers for their perseverance and determination throughout the years 2020, 2021 and parts of this year, in spite of the Covid-19 pandemic which have forced the closure of schools. The principal also thanked both students and parents for the unwavering cooperation and support during the trying years of online learning. The principal extended his appreciation to the teachers for their unfailing efforts in ensuring that the students are equipped with necessary skills and in guiding students to continue their journeys as lifelong learners.

Mr. Janidi Jingan, shared the stage with Mr. N. Mubarak, the deputy principal, Mr. Aywen, the Head of Secondary, Madam Alice Ting, the Head of Primary and Madam Lily Sim, the Head of Kindergarten, to present the certificates to the awardees.

Apart from recognizing students who have excelled academically, today's Merit Awards event also honoured outstanding students who performed well in sports and committed students who were proactive in various events organised by the school. As Mr. Janidi Jangan emphasized in his speech, the aim is to recognise the extra talents of our students and motivate them to shine in their respective fields.

As the school year draws to a close, it is with great joy for St. George's School to wrap up the academic year on a winning spirit. Our outstanding awardees today is a testament that the path to success is paved with every commitment and effort you keep. To the rest of our students, stay motivated for even the smallest achievements pave a way to great success.
