Congratulations to our Basketball Club members who represented The Rookies, a team coached by our Basketball Club coach, Anderson B. Jr. Yu, better known as Coach Buboy, and won the Silver Medal in the YOU-C1000 Sultan's Birthday Cup 2026, held from 6 June to 4 July 2026.
The tournament was a memorable journey filled with determination, resilience, and teamwork. The Rookies opened their campaign on 9 June against Honey Carsmart, going down 83–97. They responded strongly in their second match on 14 June, defeating FAZE 76–59. In their final preliminary match on 20 June, they were defeated by Hana Boyz 54–103. Despite finishing the group stage with one win and two losses, The Rookies secured third place out of the four Under-18 Boys teams, earning a spot in the semi-finals.
The semi-final was the highlight of the tournament. Facing second-placed Honey Carsmart, The Rookies produced a determined performance in a thrilling contest, edging their opponents 96–92 to book a place in the championship final.
In the final, The Rookies faced the unbeaten Hana Boyz once again. Although they were defeated 57–122, the team displayed resilience, discipline, and excellent sportsmanship throughout the competition, proudly finishing as the Under-18 Boys Silver Medallists.
The school proudly congratulates the following Basketball Club members who were part of The Rookies' silver medal-winning team: Prince Rinmar (Year 11B), Riel Eros (Year 10A), Ralph Aldrei (Year 10A), John Noly (Year 10A), Bometh (Year 10A), Sabin Gurung (Year 10A), Cedric Ethan (Year 9A), and Arjay Ace (Year 8B).
